Care at Home in Cambridge
We regularly have customers telephone our office asking “what is Home Care”, what services do you offer and as different companies work in slightly different ways I have set out in this article the type of care at home that we offer.
If you look at our care services page you will see the vast array of care services that we offer in the customers home,
Acquired Brain Injury, Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care, Arthritis Care, Children’s services, Companionship, Diabetes, End of Life and Palliative Care, Huntington’s, Hypertension, Learning Disability, Live-in Care, Motor Neurone Disease Care, MS Care, Neurological, Night Care, Parkinson’s, Physical Disability, Reablement, Respite Care, Spinal Injury, Stroke Care
These services can be offered via hourly calls during the day, overnight care or our Live-in care service.
We are very pleased to be able to offer our customers all of these care services but what really makes us proud is how our carers deliver these services.
It all starts with finding carers who have the right personal qualities and who want to be carers, the difference this makes is huge. We then have to ensure they are well trained before they start going to customers by themselves and this is done via a mixture of classroom and online training as well as shadowing an experienced trainer. The carers then get ad hoc training in specialist areas as needed as well as their annual refresher training, all of this ad’s to the level of service they are able to offer the customer in their own home.
A major part of getting the carer ready to deliver care is about how they interact with customers, how they go about delivering the care service, are they compassionate and patient, do they understand the customers background and culture, are they able to support the customer in a way that makes the customer feel safe and comfortable. Our carers will always try and do that little bit extra for the customer because that is part of their personality.
As we want our customers to have the best possible levels of service we have regular care plan reviews and call them quarterly via the telephone to check that they are happy with the service. Our field care supervisor also goes on customer visits with the carers to support them and ensure they are delivering the service to our standards.
In summary a Homecare service is not just about the types of services you offer, it is also about the way that service is delivered, this requires the right type of person, a well trained, compassionate individual who has a calling to be a carer.
