Paul Harvey-Matthews

Director

I’m one of the franchise owners, here at Caremark Harrogate.

After university, I volunteered in a care home and loved it so much I knew that care and support was where I belonged. Nearly thirty years later, I can definitely say it was the right decision. More recently, in July 2022, I had the opportunity to purchase Caremark Harrogate. Since then, as a team, we have been focussing on developing the services we provide and building a strong business. I’m really proud to be able to create jobs for local people and to help them provide a brilliant care and support service.

If I’m not working, I’m often in the garden or the kitchen – ideally cooking fresh veg grown in my garden.

Ben Harvey-Matthews

I’m Ben, and I am a co-director at Caremark Harrogate.

I have run my own business for over 15 years. I have always been focused on the wellbeing of other people – which I have done in other ventures – and so when the opportunity to run Caremark in Harrogate was available to me, it was something that felt like a natural progression.

I like to be busy, and am always doing something! I love gardening, decorating, arts and travel. Canada is my favorite country to visit!

Nicola Kitson

Care Manager

I joined Caremark Harrogate in 2023 as Field Care Supervisor after seeing what a wonderful company this was when my daughter carried out her work experience here.

I originally started my working career in care at the age of 16 whilst I was studying at college. My career to date post college has included working as a deputy manager within a Care Home in York and also working as a nurse for Bupa.

My education didn’t finish after leaving college as further down the line I went onto study Nursing and Midwifery at University whilst also raising a young family.

I find my role here at Caremark Harrogate very rewarding, I like to be able to meet our customers and their families enabling me to ensure I can match the perfect care assistant and plan person centered care.

I specialize in supporting customers and their families through End of life Care.

Sarah Tayan

Field Care Supervisor

I’m Sarah, and I am one of the field care supervisors at Caremark Harrogate.

I have worked in the care industry for over 10 years. I feel I am extremely person centred and I am focused on delivering personalized care that meets the unique needs of each customer. I love caring for others and find myself to have a naturally caring personality.
I started out as a care worker for Caremark and have now progressed to Field care supervisor. I have great Knowledge of our customers and their families. I am extremely passionate about ensuring our customers receive the highest quality care possible.

I am a mum of Two young boys so spend most of my spare time covered in mud on motorbike tracks or football pitches!

Marie Pierson

Field Care Supervisor

I always knew my heart was in care and I’ve always had an interest in caring for people, this helps me immensely when carrying out my role speaking to customers and their families on a daily basis as Care Coordinator here at Caremark Harrogate.
No day is the ever the same and I love nothing more than helping families by being at the end of the phone should they need me.

My career prior to joining Caremark in 2023 has primarily been as a nursing assistant which I fell into by a chance introduction from a neighbour and I remained In that position for over 22 years. I also previously worked as a bed manager co-ordinating bed admissions and discharges efficiently aswell as being a qualified advanced phlebotomist.

During my spare time outside of work I love to read books, get out into the countryside walking my dog and spend time with my family which includes my grandson.

I joined Caremark in August 2024 following a career in assisted living management.

My past role showed me the importance of care for our customers, so I wanted to become more hands on with delivering excellent care to those who need it, and being a Harrogate local myself, Caremark was the perfect next step.

Being able to see our Care Assistants and customers in my own community is very rewarding and I look forward to continue to build my relationship with our customers and our carers alike.

Outside of work I have a huge passion for animals and am often convincing my friends and family to be their dog sitter Or, curling up watching a movie in the cold weather
