We founded Caremark Hastings & Rother to combine professional excellence with deep community commitment. My vision has always been to provide care that is transparent, compassionate, and rooted in the values of fairness and trust.
My journey into the care industry began with a very personal need — supporting my mother when she required care. Experiencing first‑hand the importance of dignity, reliability, and compassion in those moments inspired me to dedicate myself to building a service that families can truly depend on.
Before starting Caremark, I worked in the IT industry, where I developed strong skills in systems design, workflow optimisation, and problem‑solving. These experiences now underpin the way I run Caremark — from clear rate cards and structured outreach packs to scalable processes that ensure continuity of care.
Living and working in Hastings and Rother, I draw inspiration from the local landscape, traditions, and rhythms of coastal life. My approach blends technical precision with human warmth, ensuring every care plan is not only efficient but also personal, reassuring, and respectful.

Hello, I’m Gemma — a care professional with a strong foundation in nursing and a passion for supporting people to live with dignity and independence.
I have worked all over the UK in many prominent hospitals, gaining extensive experience in diverse healthcare settings. This has given me a broad perspective on patient care and taught me the importance of empathy, patience, and clear communication. These qualities continue to guide me today as I work in the care sector, ensuring that every individual I support feels respected, understood, and empowered.
Joining Caremark has allowed me to bring together my nursing expertise and my commitment to person‑centred care. I believe that care goes beyond meeting physical needs — it’s about creating a safe, supportive environment where people can thrive emotionally and socially too.

Karen Faulkner
Registered Care Manager
Hi everyone,
I’m Karen, and I’m excited to join Caremark Bexhill, Hastings, and Rother as your new Registered Manager. I’ve worked in the care sector for 20 years, starting my journey working evenings for a small care provider in Seaford. Over the years, I’ve taken on many roles, including Carer, Field Care Supervisor, Coordinator, Manager, and Registered Manager.
I joined Caremark in November after being made redundant from my previous role, and I’m really looking forward to making Caremark the best care provider in the area. Delivering person-centred care is something I’m truly passionate about, and I always strive to put customers at the heart of everything I do. I’m excited to build a team of carers who share the same passion and commitment to providing excellent care.
When I’m not working, I enjoy listening to music, going for walks, and spending time with my family—especially my 2-year-old granddaughter, who keeps me on my toes!
I can’t wait to get to know you all and work together to make a real difference in the lives of our customers.
