On Wednesday night (10th October), local residents enjoyed a charity bingo night hosted by children’s TV star, Dave Benson Phillips at the Rose and Crown pub in Worthing. The event was put on by local home care provider, Caremark (Worthing & Arun) to raise money for local hospice, St Barnabas House.

Dave Benson Phillips commented: “I have spent my whole life performing all over the world on stage and TV, and to do an event like this in my hometown has been a joy.It was also lovely to see some of the Caremark customers there, who I hear don’t get out as much as they would like. The carers volunteered there own time to go out and pick them up, sit with them for the evening and take them home again. Also well done to the Managing Director, Andrew Demetriou for paying for their tickets, what a top bloke!.”)

Andrew Demetriou, managing director of Caremark (Worthing & Arun), said: “We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that came to our bingo night, we have been overwhelmed by the support from the local community and from both our customers and carers.

We raised £514 for St Barnabas House and it has also been a great chance to raise awareness for them, so they can continue with the fantastic work that they do.”You can donate on JustGiving: https://www.justgiving.com/caremarkworthing, or by texting: STBA90 £5 to 70070 (you can adjust the amount to what you like).
