Home care provider Caremark (Worcester & Malvern Hills) welcomed three new care workers to the team with bouquets of flowers and in recognition of the hard work they had put in to complete their theory and practical training.

Raluca, Carol and Ligia (pictured) were delighted to be presented with the flowers and formally welcomed to the Caremark team by management.

Once starting their training, new recruits are given a thorough overview of Caremark, both nationally and internationally so that they can see how their company fits into the bigger picture and understand the work done across the UK network of franchised offices as well as overseas.

Husband and wife team and joint directors of Caremark (Worcester & Malvern Hills), David and Caroline Balmer feel it is vital that staff feel they are valued and have a contribution to make to the growth and success of the company.

Caroline Balmer said: “We want to make our new recruits part of the team before they go out on their shadow visits. We are convinced that having a “team mentality” from every angle will help us all go from strength to strength.”

Caroline added: “With small gestures and encouragement to the team, they will feel more comfortable at work and without doubt will respond better. Our customers will also see the benefit of this.”

For the Balmers, keeping morale high and encouraging staff loyalty is very important and makes for good care worker retention. A crucial part of providing a good service is having continuity of care and care worker for each customer.

Although a young business, Caremark (Worcester & Malvern Hills) has already won a major award for excellence in business and care practice at Caremark Limited’s annual conference earlier this year.

With demand continuing to grow for care at home, the Balmers are anticipating a busy year sourcing yet more good calibre people to join their care teams.
