Jenna lands national care accolade
Caremark (Redcar and Cleveland) employee Jenna Lindsey has been named Care Worker of the Month by national domiciliary care franchise company Caremark
The 18-year-old won the June award for the high level of customer service she provides to her clients in the Easington area of the region.
One of these clients includes a woman with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that affects the muscles. The woman was anxious about going into the community, but Jenna built up enough trust and rapport with her that she now regularly goes swimming.
For winning the award Jenna receives a £25 Marks and Spencer certificate, as well as being featured in the national Caremark newsletter, which is sent to all 57 franchises in England.
Jenna, who only started with the company in March 2012, said: "I couldn't believe it when I was told I had won the award. I don't think that what I do is any better than the other carers who work for Caremark, but it is nice to be recognised in this way."
Caremark (Redcar and Cleveland) Managing Director Charles Folkes said: "Jenna is 100% reliable, never lets us down and has proved to be a real asset to the company.
"She receives lovely compliments from her customers and I cannot sing her praises highly enough. Although she is only 18, Jenna has the maturity of a much older carer and she thoroughly deserves the recognition she has received with this award."
Jenna is the fourth Caremark (Redcar and Cleveland) carer in a row to receive the national care worker of the month award.
