And the awards go to...
Caremark (Redcar and Cleveland) capped off a momentous year when three members of our team picked up prestigious industry awards.
At the Great North East Awards, Michelle Jackson, Beckie Moran and Janet Morgan were all recognised for their roles working for Caremark (Redcar and Cleveland).
Michelle won the Home Care Registered Manager of the Year Award while Beckie and Janet shared The Care Trainer of the Year Award.
Two other members of Caremark team, Gillian Hurst and Yvonne Jones, were also finalists in their category, the Care Assessor/Care Planner of the Year Award.
Before the gala evening final at the Marriot Hotel in Newcastle, all the short-listed candidates had to attend for an interview with the judging panel.
The judges said of Michelle: “She shows dedication and passion to ensure the customers in her care receive a high standard of care provided by a motivated and skilled staff team.”
And they said of Beckie and Janet: “The team of Beckie and Janet show clear goals around their training. They are truly committed to working with their customers’, customers’ families and staff to ensure they deliver bespoke person-centred training.”
Caremark (Redcar and Cleveland) Managing Director Charles Folkes said: “I am so very proud of our team and their achievements in the Great British Care Awards this year.
“To have finalists in three categories was amazing, but then to go on and win two of the categories was just brilliant.
“This comes just months after we launched a unique new driving service to help socially-excluded and vulnerable people in Redcar and Cleveland and becoming only 2% of care providers to be rated as outstanding by our regulator the Care Quality Commission.
“It has been a tremendous year and goes to show what can be achieved by nurturing a shared culture of putting people first and valuing every one of our employees.”
Michelle, Janet and Beckie will now go through to the final of the Great British Care Awards at Birmingham’s ICC in Spring 2018.
The purpose of the awards is to promote best practice within both home care and care homes sectors, and pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.
