There is a huge need for communities to become more Dementia Friendly and the sessions given by Champions are valuable in achieving this!
Chad Steadman, Registered Care Manager at Caremark (Leeds), has become a Dementia Friends Champion.
This voluntary role incorporates holding information sessions for the general public on specifically organised dates to help attendees understand what it is like to live with Dementia and the positive actions we can take as individuals.
A Dementia Friend learns a little bit more about what it's like to live with dementia and then turns that understanding into action - anyone of any age can be a Dementia Friend. From helping someone to find the right bus to spreading the word about dementia on social media, every action counts.
Information sessions will appear on the Dementia Friends website, but they will also be advertised here, so look out for when your next public information session will be and tell your friends about Dementia Friends.
Between us, we WILL become a Dementia Friendly Community.
