Caremark (East Riding) hail positive success of first service user forum
A forum set up to allow people a direct input into the services provided by Caremark (East Riding) has been hailed a success
The first Caremark (East Riding) Service User/Representative forum took place in January.
Three representatives of service users currently cared for by the company attended, with four others sending their apologies because they were unable to attend.
The meeting allowed staff from Caremark (East Riding) to discuss the regulatory structures and processes it has in place to deliver high quality, person-centred care across the Hull and East Riding area.
Each representative was given the opportunity to discuss their background and why they wanted to be part of the forum, with some even offering specialist training from contacts/links they have due to their family member's conditions.
One of the representatives, Jean Bean, said: "I was interested to learn about the company's set up and believe that it reflects well for Caremark (East Riding) that it actually wants to listen at the management level."
Graham Precious, Managing Director of Caremark (East Riding), said: "We were pleased with our first-ever service user/representative forum and are now look forward to building on and strengthening these links we have with the people who use our services.
"The meetings will now take place quarterly with the next scheduled for Thursday 30th May 2013 at 3pm at Caremark Offices, 2 Owen Avenue, Priory Park West, Hessle, HU13 9PD. New members are welcome and if you are interested in joining, or finding out more information, please contact Care Manager Daniel Rhodes on 01482 579579 or email Daniel.firstname.lastname@example.org
