Homecare provider Caremark Barnsley have endorsed their commitment to supporting people with dementia throughout Barnsley. They have being recognised by the Alzheimer’s Society as ‘working to become a dementia friendly organisation’
Andrew Peace (Business Director) is a member of the Local Dementia Action Alliance steering group. The group meet quarterly bringing organisations from all sectors of business and the community across Barnsley together, who want to make Barnsley a better place for people living with dementia.
Andrew said 'as a leading care provider in Barnsley we are committed to supporting our community and the people within to make Barnsley a recognised dementia friendly community'. 'The work of the Action Alliance alongside the fantastic work the local Alzheimer's Society are doing in recruiting 'Dementia Friends' is raising the awareness of how we, as a community can support people living with dementia'. ' We can all make small adaption's to the way we do business and deliver our service. Simple things like the way we greet and meet people in shops and the community makes a massive difference to helping people living with dementia remain included in the community they live in'
