Caremark – where it all began

The Caremark story started over 20 years ago in 1987, when CEO Kevin Lewis entered the Care industry, setting up a Rest Home in Brighton and Hove. In 1993, Kevin was invited by Social Services to diversify his business activities into the provision of home care which achieved rapid growth and soon became a major provider in the area.

Kevin very quickly learned that there was a need throughout the UK for the services his business provided and armed with a comprehensive operating system with robust policies and procedures he realised that franchising was the best method of providing this efficiently to the highest standards.

From 1995 to 2001, Kevin set up a network of successful Franchise Owners throughout the UK and became the UK market leader. Perhaps, unsurprisingly, Kevin’s success was recognised and his company was bought up by a major PLC.

Kevin’s passion for Care and his desire to see other people succeed led him to launch Caremark in 2005. Since its early beginnings, Caremark has consistently exceeded its growth and development targets using a proven formula and a clear guide to business development. There are now multiple Caremark offices throughout the UK and Ireland, fully supported by a strong specialist team both in the field and from the central support (Head Office) in Worthing, West Sussex.

Caremark’s proven operating system has allowed franchise owners to achieve a leading position in the market place and enabled them to steadily grow and develop their businesses. With such a strong support system in place, Caremark not only provides a service of excellent care and support to its customers but also delivers the same to its franchise owners. It is quite simply the Caremark culture.

Kevin’s passion for the business today is still as strong as it ever was and in spite of the testing economic climate he feels very positive about Caremark’s future in this growth market. “We have exciting times to look forward to as we enter an ever expanding market place requiring more complex, yet highly professional levels of care delivery” he said.
